Done the Rockbridge loop more times than you care to remember? Cosmo forwards
and backwards? Binder? Pine Ridge? I know. If you need a break from
mid-Missouri single-track, fuel-up the quad-cycle and head down to Potosi,
Missouri. There you’ll discover Council Bluff trail. Meandering through inlets,
pine forests, over rock hills and up Johnson Mountain, this 12 mile loop of
moderate to difficult single-track circumnavigates its way around the lake.
Although a little on the technical side, there are plenty of opportunities to
dismount, walk, take in the views, or even go for a dip. If your tread matches
the well worn groves on the backside of Deer Run, load-up the bike and head
south to the cool water and trail head of Council Bluffs.
